Our handy guides to your parenting journey are below

Please make sure you have a read of these properly

before you see your midwife at each stage

The first trimester

The most exciting time in pregnancy!

This is when you first find out you're expecting, you have your first ultrasound scan and blood tests, you may even hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time!

Now is the time to practice self care and get in to great habits with food and exercise.

There is so much information to learn and absorb in the first trimester, to make it easier we have split these out in to smaller portions to read through.

Week 10

Week 15

The second trimester

So many changes are happening now, your baby is getting bigger and making more demands on your body. But your body will do this perfectly!

You have seen your little one on a scan by now, and heard their heartbeat. They're with you every step of the way!

Now's the time to take stock at how amazing you've done so far, and focus on enjoying your pregnancy.

Week 20

Week 24-28

The third trimester

You and your baby are on the home stretch now!

This is the bit where it all becomes more real, but so much more exciting.

The birth

As this time draws near it is exciting and nervewracking. But know that whatever happens, our midwives have your back!

There is lots of information about birth and we aim to provide the best information without the scary stories others will tell you. We hope to give you the best birth we can, and we will need to work together on this to make it a great experience.

All the hard work and preparation is paid off now you get to hold your little bundle. Just know that we are so proud of you and all that you've done!

The postnatal period is lovingly referred to as the fourth trimester, because it's all a part of the same timeline.
